On the first day we will immerse ourselves in the ancient legends of the Romanesque paths, relax and lose ourselves in the nature of the Vall de Boí.
On arrival, we will visit the village of Taüll.
Taüll is one of the 11 villages in Catalonia that are called “Poble amb Encant”, so they represent Catalonia in the European network of villages for their charm. Then we will also visit briefly the village of Boi, and at the end, in the afternoon, we will go to the hotel to check in and have dinner.
On this second day, we will discover the Aiguestortes National Park and Sant Mauricio Lake.
We will do an easy route of 7/12 kms that will take us to the Sant Mauricio Lake and the Ratera Waterfall.
At the end of the route we will visit some wonderful villages: Unha, Arties and Salardu. Here we will have dinner and then return to the hotel.
After breakfast in our hotel in front of the mountains, we can choose between different options, which can be adventure and culture:
Adventurous:
Relaxed:
If you don’t want to choose between these activities, we will also visit the villages of Bossot and Les, the last border countries with France.
At the end, we go to Vielha to go back to our hotel and maybe we take advantage of the SPA included in our hotel 🙂
On the last day we will wake up early, and after breakfast and check-out, we will leave for our hiking route.
It is a medium-high level route, so you will also have the option to do half way and return to Vielha. At the end of the route the bus picks us up and we return to Valencia.

Between the regions of Alta Ribagorza, Pallars Sobirá, Pallars Jussá and the Aran Valley, lies the stunning Aigüestortes National Park and Lake Sant Maurici. The park is in the province of Lérida and features prominent mountains reaching up to 3000 metres. Its western part is famous for its lakes of glacial origin, its characteristic landscapes with meadows and meanders, hence the name “Aiguas Tortas” (tortuous waters). The eastern part of the Rio Escrito is where the marvellous Lake St. Maurice is located.
Thanks to the great unevenness, different ecosystems originate and as the space has been a protected and inaccessible site, its fauna and flora have created marvellous wild landscapes.
The Vall de Boí is a valley with four heritages:
The first is, of course, its national park of Aigüestortes and lake of Sant Maurici.
The Romanesque: thanks to the very high concentration of churches despite its small size, the Vall de Boí has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its heritage has been preserved thanks to its isolated position.
Starlight destination: The valley is the perfect place to enjoy a magical sky with an infinite number of stars. This condition means that the valley is used as a practice field for astronomy.
Fallas de Vall de Boí: UNESCO Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
Located in the province of Lérida, with its capital Vielha e Mijaran, the Vall de Aran is the only Atlantic valley in the Catalan Pyrenees: its amazing nature offers high mountains, glacial lakes, beautiful hiking trails and a delicious and unique gastronomic culture.
Vilha, “the town between mountains”, is a town you cannot miss if you are going to discover the Catalan Pyrenees. Its cultural heritage makes it one of the most important places of Cultural Interest in the Aran Valley. In addition, its position at almost 100 metres above sea level creates a very beautiful setting for the visitor’s eyes.
At the confluence of the Garona and Unhóla Rivers, it is situated at a height of 1,268 meters above sea level. Due to its advantageous location in the Middle Ages, the hamlet was fortified. In the upper section of the village, where the church now stands, the castle formerly stood. Plaza Mayor Square, the heart of the historic district, is home to a charming fountain from the 18th century.
Unha, another beautiful village in the Pyrenees where the views of the valley and the glacier leave you speechless. Situated at almost 1,280m above sea level and surrounded by pure nature, Unha is a must-see village in the Aran Valley.
This park is perfect for those who want to discover the fauna and biodiversity of the high mountains: bears, lynx, otters, wolves, marmots and deer, etc… live in semi-freedom, in their own ecosystem, in the middle of the wild nature. The visit of the park is an optional activity and the price is 15€.
For this fantastic trip we secured the best hotel in the area.
Carefully chosen with a mixture of nature, comfort, services and views in mind.
