Hiking Mascarat

One of the most spectacular hiking routes in the Valencian Community, the Mascarat Canyon is a unique trekking experience between mountains and sea. Located north of the Altea coastline, between the Sierras de Bernia and Toix, this trail offers an impressive natural landscape combining cliffs, vertical rock formations, and open views over the Mediterranean Sea.

During the route, you will walk through the impressive Mascarat Gorge, a place where the power of nature has shaped the terrain into a deep and dramatic canyon. The views of the ravine and the Mediterranean coastline make this hike an unforgettable experience for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts.

One of the main highlights is the historic Mascarat Bridge, built in the 19th century to connect the Marina Alta and Marina Baixa regions. Today, this bridge is one of the icons of the route, and passing underneath it is one of the most impressive moments of the hike.

Itinerary

Departure from Valencia

We meet. at Av. Aragon 31.

Arrival at Mascarat

We arrive and start the route. We have a break in the middle of the route and have lunch.

After the route

We finish the route and go for a drink in Altea/Calpe.

Return to Valencia

We meet at the bus to leave for Valencia.

Yes, it is recommended to bring your own food because in most of the hiking places it is not possible to buy it.

What do I need to hike?

You can consult the section “what to bring” & “hiking description” where it will be clearly mentioned what you need for the excursion. You will also receive an email after the reservation with detailed information.

Do I need to know how to use a map?

You don’t need to know how to use map, bacause the mountain tours have a professional mountain guide.

How/Where can I book?

You can book on the website or at our office in Plaza Honduras, 26 from 09:30 to 14:30.

Do I have to book in advance or can I pay on the day of travel?

Yes, it is necessary to book in advance, as we cannot guarantee that there will be places available on that day.

What are the cancellation policies?

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Up to one week before the event: 100% refund, either in cash or as a credit voucher, based on your preference.
From one week to 72 hours before: 100% refund only as a credit voucher.
Less than 72 hours before: No refunds.
In case of a medical emergency or force majeure (with valid proof), or due to weather conditions, the event will be rescheduled, or the credit voucher will be issued for use within one year.

Proof of emergency must be submitted before the event. No refunds after the event.

Where does the bus leave from?

Normally our buses leave from Avenida Aragón 31 (Mestalla). However, after booking, you will receive all the details with the ticket by email (please check your spam folder in case you receive the email immediately after booking).
