Hiking Montanejos

Known for its hot springs where it is possible to bathe and relax both in summer and winter due to the constant temperature of its waters, Montanejos is a paradise on earth. Legend has it that the Moorish king, Abu Zeit, built these baths so that his queens could bathe and never lose their beauty.

Itinerary

09:00Departure from Valencia

Meeting at 8:45 (Puntual please) in front of Mestalla, and at 09:00 we will leave.

Arrival in Montanejos

We arrive around and we start our hiking. Those who do not wish to hike can stay at the hot spring and wait for us.

 After having finished with the hiking, we returne to the lake / River beach where we will bathe, and will have a picnic.

17:30Return to Valencia

Around 17:30 we will get on the bus to return to Valencia.

Distance: 9.54 km
Elevation gain: 544 m
Difficulty : Moderate (You have to be physically fit to do this trek)
We will hike 2 different mountains, Means we will go up and down Twice. So a long trek.
Trek type:  Loop(Circle) we finish where we start

Montanejos is a jewel of the Valencian community, adventure lovers can find a wonderful place to live a fascinating experience. The crystalline colours of its waters allow not only to bathe and relax. The hiking route that crosses the mountain, allows you to find breathtaking panoramic views over the village, the river Mijares and to see “El Chorro” a spillway with a capacity of 41000 litres per second.  The sunny banks are also the perfect place for those who prefer to simply relax and get away from the hectic city life.

We have to be fit to do the hiking route?

You need to be physically fit to do the hiking route.

What is the hiking route difficulty?

You can find all the information of the hiking route in the hiking descrption section above (Distance, diffulty, Map, time etc..).

Should we bring our own food?

Yes, it is recommended to bring your own food because in most of the hiking places it is not possible to buy it.

 

What do I need to hike?

You can consult the section “what to bring” & “hiking description” where it will be clearly mentioned what you need for the excursion. You will also receive an email after the reservation  with detailed information.

Do I need to know how to use a map?

You don’t need to know how to use map, bacause the mountain tours have a professional mountain guide.

General Faqs

How/Where can I book?

You can book on the website or at our office in Plaza Honduras, 26 from 09:30 to 14:30.

Do I have to book in advance or can I pay on the day of travel?

Yes, it is necessary to book in advance, as we cannot guarantee that there will be places available on that day.

What are the cancellation policies?

In case of day trips (same day return):

  • Up to one week before the excursion 100% refund in the form of money or voucher for other excursions.
  • Until Thursday (20:00) of the same week of the excursion 100% refund in the form of a travel voucher.
  • After Thursday, no refund. 

In case of a trip of more than one day (Overnight)

  • Up to 1 month before: 100% refund
  • Up to 3 weeks: 80% refund
  • Up to 2 weeks: 50% refund
  • After 2 weeks: No refund

In case of no-show on the day of travel there is no refund, in case of late arrival at the meeting point there is no refund.

Where does the bus leave from?

Normally our buses leave from Avenida Aragón 31 (Mestalla). However, after booking, you will receive all the details with the ticket by email (please check your spam folder in case you receive the email immediately after booking).

Is food, entrance fee, etc. included?
