In the mountains, weather can be notoriously unpredictable, but drawing from our experience over the past five years, we can provide some insights into the climate patterns you can expect during our expedition.

As you arrive in Manali, expect pleasant daytime temperatures hovering around 24 degrees Celsius, with mornings and evenings bringing a chill around 5 degrees.

Similar conditions will prevail for the first three days of our journey until Jipsa, albeit with a slight drop in temperature of 2-3 degrees. Beyond Jipsa, as we venture into the cold deserts, be prepared for colder temperatures during the day, around 18-20 degrees, and potentially dropping to 0 degrees at night until we pass Tanglangla over the next four days.

Upon reaching Leh, you’ll notice a slight increase in temperature compared to previous days, with daytime temperatures ranging from 25-30 degrees. Early mornings will remain pleasant at 4-5 degrees.

When we undertake the challenge of Khardung-la, be sure to layer up with warm clothing as we ascend to approximately 18,000 feet, where temperatures can plummet.

*Please note: Weather conditions such as rain and snowstorms can alter these patterns, so it’s essential to stay prepared for any changes in the forecast.
