On December 1st, we’re leaving 30 minutes earlier as marathon preparations will close access to the meeting point.
We meet at 07:45 in Avenida Aragón, 31 and we leave Valencia at 08:00 (Please be punctual).
We will arrive in Cartagena at around 11:00 and have free time for sightseeing.
We will meet at the bus to go to Murcia.
We meet at the bus at 18:15 and at 18:30 we leave for Valencia.
MURCIA
Murcia is a city of Arab origins, founded in 831 and located in the centre of the Segura river valley. The historical centre of the city is one of the most wonderful of Spain, as Murcia managed to preserve the legacy of its finest era. In the city you will find Baroque churches, temples and royal residences, and you can visit the beautiful Plaza Santo Domingo, the eternal symbol of the city. Another important landmark of the town is its delicious gastronomy, that has been influenced by all the different civilizations that lived there.
CARTAGENA
Just as Murcia, Cartagena is a city full of history that you can discover by getting lost in its streets and squares. There you will find its iconic monuments, such as the Roman theatre built under the emperor Augusto’s era: but it’s not just that, as all the different civilizations that lived there contributed to enrich its marvellous artistic heritage. Another import part of the city is the harbour, that resulted very important during the Succession War thanks to its strategic position on the coast.
