Hiking Sierra de Espadán

Hello hiker,
Would you like to get lost among wonderful species of natural landscapes?
If the answer is “yes” this excursion is made for you. The Sierra de Espadán is a natural landscape of the Valencian Community, its towering forests and cork oaks make this place one of the best places to live a great adventure.

The route reaches the Pico de Espadán, a point 110 meters high from where it is possible to enjoy the wonderful view of the Mediterranean Sea and the Sierra Calderona.

We’ll get to Almedíjar, a small village, and take a short break before starting the hike. It’s going to be a long route, so gather some energy now. Midway, we’ll stop for lunch and a bit of rest

Hiking Sierra de Espadán

The Sierra de Espadán has been a key place throughout history, the presence of remains from different ages confirms this: there are some from the Bronze Age, Roman and also from the Arab period, in fact it has been a great economic and cultural centre.
Today it is one of the most beautiful places in the Valencian Community and it is still possible to find along the way fortifications, ancient shelters, medieval and Moorish ruins and remains of the Civil War.

You need to be physically fit to do the hiking route.

What is the hiking route difficulty?

Should we bring our own food?

Yes, it is recommended to bring your own food because in most of the hiking places it is not possible to buy it.

 

What do I need to hike?

You can consult the section “what to bring” & “hiking description” where it will be clearly mentioned what you need for the excursion. You will also receive an email after the reservation  with detailed information.

Do I need to know how to use a map?

You don’t need to know how to use map, bacause the mountain tours have a professional mountain guide.

General Faqs

How/Where can I book?

You can book on the website or at our office in Plaza Honduras, 26 from 09:30 to 14:30.

Do I have to book in advance or can I pay on the day of travel?

Yes, it is necessary to book in advance, as we cannot guarantee that there will be places available on that day.

What are the cancellation policies?

In case of day trips (same day return):

  • Up to one week before the excursion 100% refund in the form of money or voucher for other excursions.
  • Until Thursday (20:00) of the same week of the excursion 100% refund in the form of a travel voucher.
  • After Thursday, no refund. 

In case of a trip of more than one day (Overnight)

  • Up to 1 month before: 100% refund
  • Up to 3 weeks: 80% refund
  • Up to 2 weeks: 50% refund
  • After 2 weeks: No refund

In case of no-show on the day of travel there is no refund, in case of late arrival at the meeting point there is no refund.

Where does the bus leave from?

Normally our buses leave from Avenida Aragón 31 (Mestalla). However, after booking, you will receive all the details with the ticket by email (please check your spam folder in case you receive the email immediately after booking).

Is food, entrance fee, etc. included?
