Hiking Montanejos

Known for its hot springs, where you can bathe and relax both in summer and winter due to the constant water temperature, Montanejos is a paradise on earth. Legend has it that the Moorish king Abu Zeit built these baths so that his queens could bathe and never lose their beauty.

Meeting at 8:45 AM (Please be punctual) in front of Mestalla, and we will depart at 9:00 AM.

Estimated arrival in Montanejos

After finishing the hiking, we will return to the lake/river beach where we will enjoy the outdoors and have a picnic.

We will get on the bus to return to Valencia.

Difficulty: Moderate (You need to be in good physical condition for this trek)

We will walk through 2 different mountains, meaning we will ascend and descend twice. It’s a long trek.

Montanejos is a gem of the Valencian community, where adventure lovers can find a wonderful place to experience something fascinating. The crystal-clear waters allow not only bathing and relaxing. The hiking route through the mountain offers stunning panoramic views of the town, the Mijares River, and the “El Chorro,” a spillway with a capacity of 41,000 liters per second. The sun-drenched riverbanks are also the perfect place for those who prefer to simply relax and escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

Do I need to be in good shape to do the hiking route?

Yes, it is necessary to be in good physical condition to do the hiking route.

What is the difficulty level of the hiking route?

Do I need to bring food?

Yes, we recommend bringing food from home, as it’s not possible to buy food on most routes.

What do I need to do the route?

You can check the “What to bring” and “Route description” sections, where everything you need for the excursion will be clearly mentioned. You will also receive an email after booking with detailed information.

Do I need to know how to use the map?

It’s not necessary to know how to use the map, as the mountain excursions include a professional mountain guide. However, if you do know, it’s always recommended.

How/Where can I book?

You can book on the website or at our office in Plaza Honduras, 26 from 09:30 to 14:30.

Do I have to book in advance or can I pay on the day of travel?

Yes, it is necessary to book in advance, as we cannot guarantee that there will be places available on that day.

What are the cancellation policies?

In case of day trips (same day return):

  • Up to one week before the excursion 100% refund in the form of money or voucher for other excursions.
  • Until Thursday (20:00) of the same week of the excursion 100% refund in the form of a travel voucher.
  • After Thursday, no refund. 

In case of a trip of more than one day (Overnight)

  • Up to 1 month before: 100% refund
  • Up to 3 weeks: 80% refund
  • Up to 2 weeks: 50% refund
  • After 2 weeks: No refund

In case of no-show on the day of travel there is no refund, in case of late arrival at the meeting point there is no refund.

Where does the bus leave from?

Normally our buses leave from Avenida Aragón 31 (Mestalla). However, after booking, you will receive all the details with the ticket by email (please check your spam folder in case you receive the email immediately after booking).
