SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
Our first destination is Santiago de Compostela, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This city is captivating for its stone buildings, its streets full of small shops, its enormous cathedral and its popular gastronomy, among which the Tarta de Santiago stands out. In addition to the cathedral, there are dozens of historic buildings such as the Monastery of San Paio de Antealtares, the Hostal dos Reis, the Mercado de Abastos and the Monastery of San Paio de Antealtares.
FINISTERRE
Can you imagine a sunset at what is known as the end of the world? There is nothing to describe it, so you will have to see it with your own eyes. Near Santiago we find Finisterre, a small fishing village that used to be said to be the end of the earth, since from its viewpoints you can only see the Atlantic Ocean.
A CORUÑA
With great historical monuments and a lot of history along its streets we have A Coruña, an ancient Celtic town. This city contains an interesting Romanesque ensemble such as churches and squares. It also has what is possibly the most famous lighthouse in Spain: the Tower of Hercules, still in operation.
The Church of Santiago, the Archaeological and Historical Museum, the Palace of the Captaincy General, the Museum of Fine Arts and the seafront promenade are some of the attractions of this city.
As for the gastronomy of A Coruña, fresh seafood such as scallops, spider crab and clams is a must. Broths, empanadas (pies) and lacón con grelos (pork shoulder with turnip tops) are the most popular dishes in this part of Galicia.
VIGO
Discover Vigo, a city that combines innovation and tradition in the south of Galicia. In its streets we can find great architectural monuments such as the Medieval Bridge or the Pazo de San Roque.
Its coastline is also a strong attraction. One of the most popular beaches is Playa Américas, an extensive stretch of sand bathed by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and awarded every year with the Blue Flag, a recognition granted by the European Union for the quality of its waters and its services such as restaurants, lifeguard posts, car parks, etc.
Vigo also offers you a sea of flavours. Here you’ll find the best seafood from the Vigo estuary, Galician empanada, churrasco steak and octopus á feira.
CIES ISLANDS
The Cíes Islands are part of the Galician Maritime-Terrestrial National Park of the Atlantic Islands and are located in the Vigo estuary. On these islands we find beaches catalogued as the most beautiful in the world, such as Playa das Rodas, ideal for snorkelling lovers.
There are also restaurants where you can taste traditional Galician cuisine, not forgetting the wines.
PONTEVEDRA
Pontevedra has one of the most outstanding old quarters in Galicia. Among its architectural elements we find the imposing Church of San Francisco, the Sanctuary of La Peregrina, the Basilica of Santa María la Mayor, or the Museum of Pontevedra.
AROUSA ISLAND
In the heart of the Ría de Arousa (Pontevedra) is the Illa de Arousa, a small municipality located in one of the most privileged paradises of Galicia.
Declared a Natural Reserve by the European Union, the Illa de Arousa has places as interesting as the Islote Areoso, Punta Cabalo Lighthouse or the Carreirón Natural Park.
We have carefully chosen our hotel to be comfortable and conveniently located between all the places we will visit. The rooms are triple rooms and if you want a double room, you can ask for an extra 7€/pax/night or € 70/night more for a single room.
