Oporto

After Lisbon, Porto, or Oporto, it is the most visited city in Portugal. One of its main attractions is the Clérigos tower where you can enjoy an amazing view of the city. The things that characterise this city are: the rich wine, its riverside neighbourhoods and Do Barredo. One of the most characteristic things are the old buildings where you can find balconies with clothes hanging and many local shops. This district with many local residents represents the authenticity and the soul of Porto.

Coimbra

In the south of Porto we will discover the beautiful university city of Coimbra which stands out for its historical core and its interesting cultural heritage. It is not only well known for its university, but also for its ancient buildings and churches and the beautiful gardens, its Botanical Garden is one of the most beautiful places to visit. It was founded in 1773 in a green wooded area. With its colours, it contributes to the contrast of the historical centre and numerous buildings. Also its cathedral is a great attraction for everybody, its interior represents all the splendour of the mannerist and baroque styles.

Lisbon

Beautiful Lisbon, the capital, is however the best known destination in Portugal and also the most visited. Lisbon is the city of light, its beautiful viewpoints offer wonderful views and its characteristic trams allow you to visit the beautiful city. Moreover, its gastronomy is an indispensable part: the Belém cakes are one of the most characteristic things of the gastronomy of this city.

Sintra

Not far from Lisbon (about 25 kilometres) is the beautiful Portuguese town of Sintra. This town is special and recognisable for its Palacio da Pena, which was one of the most famous places in Europe. It was the residence of the Portuguese kings during the 19th century. This palace is located on the highest hill of the city. This palace will impress you from the outside as well as from the inside. It has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sintra is one of the most romantic cities in Europe precisely because of its fairytale palaces and beautiful gardens. In addition to visiting the main palaces and castles, you can visit the Natural Park that surrounds the town and take a walking tour through it. There you can see several small lakes and ponds.

Cabo da Roca

The westernmost point of Europe is in Portugal and is Cabo da Roca. It is 144 metres high and today is a popular tourist destination well known for its stone obelisk with a tombstone inscribed with geographical coordinates, an 18th century lighthouse and a souvenir shop.
