Later in the evening, our team will hold a session to brief you on essential aspects to consider for the upcoming ten days of cycling adventure. We’ll ensure an early night’s rest, allowing our bodies to fully recuperate before commencing this exhilarating cycling expedition

DAY 4Manali to Sissu | 40 km

Stay: Hotel | Cycling: 40km | Altitude: 3070 Meters

On this particular day, we’ll need to rise early, prepare ourselves, and indulge in a nourishing and delightful morning meal. Our adventure kicks off right from the hotel as we embark on the Manali-Leh + Khardungla cycle tour. Prepare to mount your bikes and embark on this unforgettable cycling journey. Along the way, we’ll encounter the bustling Solang Valley, known for its plethora of adrenaline-pumping activities such as paragliding, rope courses, and horseback riding. Our route includes traversing through the Atal Tunnel, a record-breaking feat with its impressive length of 9.02 km and elevation of over 10,000 feet (3,048 m) – making it the highest highway single-tube tunnel worldwide. Our midday stop will be at the charming ATAL cafe in Sissu, near the picturesque Sissu Lake, where we’ll enjoy a leisurely lunch. Following that, we’ll proceed to check in at the Aliyas Hotel or a similar establishment in Sissu, where we can unwind and rejuvenate for the remainder of the day.

DAY 5Sissu to Jispa | 53 km

Stay: Hotel | Cycling: 78km | Altitude: 3350Meters

The day will kick off with a gentle and gradual ascent, leading to an exhilarating downhill ride towards Tandi. Here, the convergence of the rivers “Chandra” and “Bhaga” holds significant religious importance in Hindu tradition. Our journey then continues towards Kyelang (also known as Keylong), a charming town and the administrative hub of Lahaul and Spiti districts. Kyelang hosts numerous government offices and amenities in the region. We’ll pause here for a satisfying lunch before continuing our route to Jispa, where we’ll check into the Padma Lodge or a similar accommodation. This area marks the transition from low-oxygen zones to lush green landscapes. It’s a day to soak in the verdant scenery surrounding us. En route to Lato, we’ll traverse through majestic barrel mountains, adorned with awe-inspiring panoramas.

DAY 6Jispa to ZingZingBar | 31 km

Stay: Domes / Camping | Cycling: 31 km | Altitude: 3820 Meters

Beginning the day with a gentle start, we’ll pedal our way towards ZingZingBar. Today, we’ll encounter a rugged and rocky terrain as we pass through the quaint village of Jispa. There will be plenty of downhill stretches before we begin the ascent towards Patseo. It’ll mark our first taste of complete isolation from the outside world during this expedition, as we venture into low-oxygen zones. Upon reaching Patseo, we’ll enjoy a gradual and manageable climb towards upper ZingZingBar. As the day draws to a close, we’ll touchdown in upper ZingZingBar.

After freshening up, indulge in a piping hot dinner. Following dinner, you can retire to your comfortable bed for a restful sleep, preparing yourself for the challenges of the next day. This marks our inaugural evening spent together under the vast expanse of a large dome.

DAY 7ZingZingBar to Sarchu | 41 km

Stay: Swiss Hut | Cycling: 41 km | Altitude 4255 Meters

Following an early morning snack, we embark on a gradual ascent towards the second pass of our journey, Baralacha La, passing through Zing Zing Bar along the way. Today’s climb mainly unfolds on smooth tarmac roads, offering a quieter journey with minimal traffic. Upon conquering the challenging Baralacha La pass, the landscape undergoes a dramatic transformation, revealing the rugged beauty of the Mountain Desert for the first time. Descending to Bharatpur, we then navigate rolling terrain towards our ultimate destination for the day, Sarchu.

Upon arrival in Sarchu, we’ll capture memorable group and solo photoshoots, as well as videos to commemorate this significant halfway milestone of the expedition. It’s a day for relaxation and celebration, marking our achievements thus far on this remarkable journey.

DAY 8Sarchu to Pang | 80 km

Stay: Domes / Camp | Cycling: 80 Km | Altitude 4370 Meter

Prepare yourselves for an exhilarating and demanding journey today, as we tackle two mountain passes in a single day. Starting from our campsite, we’ll encounter rolling terrain until we reach the beginning of the Gata Loops. From there, our ascent begins. After conquering the 21 challenging loops, we’ll enjoy a brief respite with a relaxed ride on rolling terrain before ascending once more to the third pass of our route, NakeeLa. Along the way, we’ll also traverse the scenic ‘Lachlung La’ pass, where the breathtaking views will make you feel the rewards of your hard work. Following our descent from the ‘Lachlung La’ pass, we’ll arrive at Pang, where we’ll unwind and spend the night in cozy stay domes.

This day presents the toughest ride of our journey, but having gradually acclimated to the terrain, each rider will have had ample time for self-reflection on their riding abilities. Thus, riders can collaborate with their tour buddies to strategize their approach for the day’s challenges.

DAY 9 Pang to Lato | 103 km

Stay: Guest House | Cycling: 103 km | Altitude 4835Meters

As the morning unfolds, a brief 5 km climb awaits, leading us to the breathtaking Morrie Plains, undoubtedly one of the most picturesque stretches of our journey. Here, we’ll be greeted by expansive vistas, complemented by smooth and impeccably maintained roads. With wide horizons stretching out before us, to the left, vast plains extend for approximately 2 km, while on the right, towering multi-colored mountains dominate the landscape. Our journey continues as we traverse the Taglangla pass, the second-highest motorable road of our expedition. Spanning an elevation of 5328 meters above sea level, this pass entails a sustained climb of around 15 km, offering sweeping views and exhilarating challenges. Upon conquering Taglangla, we’ll descend towards Lato, where the Lato Guest House awaits. From here, a thrilling 35 km downhill ride beckons, leading us to our destination for the day, Lato.

DAY 10Lato to Leh | 75 km

Stay: Hotel | Cycling: 82km | Altitude: 3600 Meters

Today, we’ll adopt a relaxed pace and begin with a leisurely start. Our cycling journey will follow the scenic route alongside the majestic River Indus, leading us from Lato/Upshi to the bustling town of Ladakh Leh. Along the way, we’ll pass by several notable monasteries nestled in the Hemis, Thiksey, and Shey regions, with the possibility of exploring a few depending on our schedule. Upon reaching the iconic Leh-Gate, we’ll capture a group photograph before continuing our onward journey towards our accommodation, The Himalayan Ladakh or a similar establishment.

DAY 11Leh to Khardungla | Local Sight Seeing | 80 km

Stay: Hotel | Cycling: 80km | Altitude 5360 Meters

Drawing from our extensive experience over the past five years, we’ve observed that riders often find immense satisfaction upon reaching Leh. As a result, many opt for local sightseeing instead of attempting the arduous climb to Khardungla.

For those riders who are determined to conquer the challenge, departure for Khardungla Pass commences early at 6 am following breakfast. This iconic journey leads us through breathtaking valleys along the world’s second-highest motorable road, culminating in a triumphant summit experience unparalleled in its sense of achievement. Celebrate this remarkable milestone alongside your trusty bike and fellow riders. Upon returning to our hotel in Leh, we’ll gather for a celebratory dinner, commemorating the successful completion of the tour.

Alternatively, riders opting for sightseeing adventures will be met by taxis at the hotel. They’ll have the opportunity to explore Magnetic Hill, visit monasteries, and witness the confluence of rivers while engaging in optional adventure sports activities. Any expenses incurred for lunch or additional activities during travel will be the responsibility of the individual rider. Once the sightseeing excursion concludes, we’ll reconvene at our hotel in Leh for an evening of dinner celebrations, marking the culmination of our unforgettable journey.
