Barranc de Encantada, also known as the Enchanted Ravine, is an impressive natural wonder located in the province of Alicante. This stunning ravine is a popular destination for all nature lovers, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts.

In addition, the canyon is famous for its impressive limestone formations, crystal clear waters and lush vegetation.

09:00Departure from Valencia

We will meet at 8:45 at the meeting point (Avenida Aragón, 31) to leave at 9:00.

Arrival and start of the route

We arrive and after a break we start the hiking route.

Lunch break in the caves

In the middle of the route we will stop for lunch and a swim at Gorg del Salt.

End of the hiking route

At the end of the hiking route, we will go to visit the beautiful village of Planes.

18:30Planes & Back to Valencia

We will have free time to visit Planes and then we will meet the bus to return to Valencia.

This hiking route starts from the village of Planes to the Barranco de La Encantada ravine. Starting from the village of Planes, this simple route offers really excellent views of the Beniarrés reservoir and places with pools of water where you can bathe. The entire route runs along pretty paths, forest tracks and even paved areas, so there are no problems at all. Visitors can explore the gorge on foot or by bicycle, and there are several hiking trails to choose from.
The trails vary in difficulty, so there is something for everyone from beginners to experienced hikers. The route we are going to do is of medium-easy level.

We have to be fit to do the hiking route?

You need to be physically fit to do the hiking route.

What is the hiking route difficulty?

Should we bring our own food?

Yes, it is recommended to bring your own food because in most of the hiking places it is not possible to buy it.

 

What do I need to hike?

You can consult the section “what to bring” & “hiking description” where it will be clearly mentioned what you need for the excursion. You will also receive an email after the reservation  with detailed information.

Do I need to know how to use a map?

You don’t need to know how to use map, bacause the mountain tours have a professional mountain guide.

How/Where can I book?

You can book on the website or at our office in Plaza Honduras, 26 from 09:30 to 14:30.

Do I have to book in advance or can I pay on the day of travel?

Yes, it is necessary to book in advance, as we cannot guarantee that there will be places available on that day.

What are the cancellation policies?

In case of day trips (same day return):

  • Up to one week before the excursion 100% refund in the form of money or voucher for other excursions.
  • Until Thursday (20:00) of the same week of the excursion 100% refund in the form of a travel voucher.
  • After Thursday, no refund. 

In case of a trip of more than one day (Overnight)

  • Up to 1 month before: 100% refund
  • Up to 3 weeks: 80% refund
  • Up to 2 weeks: 50% refund
  • After 2 weeks: No refund

In case of no-show on the day of travel there is no refund, in case of late arrival at the meeting point there is no refund.

Where does the bus leave from?

Normally our buses leave from Avenida Aragón 31 (Mestalla). However, after booking, you will receive all the details with the ticket by email (please check your spam folder in case you receive the email immediately after booking).
