One of the most distinctive and well-known hiking trails in the province of Alicante. This moderate circular route leads us through cultural and ecological heritage sites, featuring dry stone constructions and ancient cave paintings. With more than 6,800 stone steps, it is also known as “The Cathedral of Hiking.”

In the north of Alicante province, within the picturesque Vall de Laguar, lies the Barranc de l’Infern — a breathtaking, narrow canyon carved by the waters of the Riu Girona over thousands of years.

BARRANC DE L’INFERN

For hiking enthusiasts, the Barranco del Infierno canyon is a must-visit. Located in Vall de Laguar in northern Alicante, within the Valencian Community, it is one of the most scenic and popular trails in the province. Also known as the Greger Ravine, the route stretches around 10 kilometers and takes several hours to complete. Hikers can enjoy spectacular mountain views along the way. Suitable for year-round visits, the trail reaches 800 meters in altitude, is moderately challenging, and has no hazardous sections.

Yes, it is recommended to bring your own food because in most of the hiking places it is not possible to buy it.

What do I need to hike?

You can consult the section “what to bring” & “hiking description” where it will be clearly mentioned what you need for the excursion. You will also receive an email after the reservation with detailed information.

Do I need to know how to use a map?

You don’t need to know how to use map, bacause the mountain tours have a professional mountain guide.

How/Where can I book?

You can book on the website or at our office in Plaza Honduras, 26 from 09:30 to 14:30.

Do I have to book in advance or can I pay on the day of travel?

Yes, it is necessary to book in advance, as we cannot guarantee that there will be places available on that day.

What are the cancellation policies?

In case of day trips (same day return):

Up to one week before the excursion 100% refund in the form of money or voucher for other excursions.
Until Thursday (20:00) of the same week of the excursion 100% refund in the form of a travel voucher.
After Thursday, no refund.

In case of a trip of more than one day (Overnight)

Up to 1 month before: 100% refund
Up to 3 weeks: 80% refund
Up to 2 weeks: 50% refund
After 2 weeks: No refund

In case of no-show on the day of travel there is no refund, in case of late arrival at the meeting point there is no refund.

Where does the bus leave from?

Normally our buses leave from Avenida Aragón 31 (Mestalla). However, after booking, you will receive all the details with the ticket by email (please check your spam folder in case you receive the email immediately after booking).
