Font Roja

The Parque Natural del Carrascal de la Font Roja was declared a natural park in 1987 by the Generalitat Valenciana, becoming the first natural park in the Valencian Community. It is located between the towns of Alcoy and Ibi and is one of the best-preserved natural areas in the region.

The park is known for its rich biodiversity, with more than 2,400 cataloged species, and for its mixed Mediterranean forests that include maples, ash trees, and Valencian oaks. It is also protected as a Special Protection Area for Birds (ZEPA) and a Site of Community Interest (SCI).

At elevations above 1,200 meters, the forest shows spectacular colors, especially during autumn and spring. Visitors can follow scenic trails that allow them to explore the park’s vegetation and discover historical traces of past inhabitants.

Departure from Valencia

Meet at the meeting point, Avenida Aragon 31, (in front of Mestalla).

 

 

Arrival and start of the hike

Once we arrive, we’ll stop to have brunch and start the Hike. In the middle of the hike we will take a break and have lunch.

Return to Valencia

Once we finish the route we can have a drink in a nearby village or city and head back to Valencia.

We have to be fit to do the hiking route?

You need to be physically fit to do the hiking route.

What is the hiking route difficulty?

You can find all the information of the hiking route in the hiking descrption section above (Distance, diffulty, Map, time etc..).

Should we bring our own food?

Yes, it is recommended to bring your own food because in most of the hiking places it is not possible to buy it.

 

What do I need to hike?

You can consult the section “what to bring” & “hiking description” where it will be clearly mentioned what you need for the excursion. You will also receive an email after the reservation  with detailed information.

Do I need to know how to use a map?

You don’t need to know how to use map, bacause the mountain tours have a professional mountain guide.

How/Where can I book?

You can book on the website or at our office in Plaza Honduras, 26 from 09:30 to 14:30.

Do I have to book in advance or can I pay on the day of travel?

Yes, it is necessary to book in advance, as we cannot guarantee that there will be places available on that day.

What are the cancellation policies?

In case of day trips (same day return):

  • Up to one week before the excursion 100% refund in the form of money or voucher for other excursions.
  • Until Thursday (20:00) of the same week of the excursion 100% refund in the form of a travel voucher.
  • After Thursday, no refund. 

In case of a trip of more than one day (Overnight)

  • Up to 1 month before: 100% refund
  • Up to 3 weeks: 80% refund
  • Up to 2 weeks: 50% refund
  • After 2 weeks: No refund

In case of no-show on the day of travel there is no refund, in case of late arrival at the meeting point there is no refund.

Where does the bus leave from?

Normally our buses leave from Avenida Aragón 31 (Mestalla). However, after booking, you will receive all the details with the ticket by email (please check your spam folder in case you receive the email immediately after booking).
